If the plug-in appears in the Plug-in Manager, but is not available in a Logic Pro project or MainStage concert, rescan the plug-in. If you still can't find the plug-in in the Plug-in Manager, reset all Audio Units. Rescan a plug-in If the plug-in appears in the Plug-in Manager but still isn't available in Logic Pro or MainStage, rescan the plug-in.

If the plug-in fails validation again, check with the manufacturer to see if the plug-in is compatible with your version of macOS, and for possible updates. All installed Audio Units plug-ins will be rescanned. You're right, the Waves website would make it seem that version 8 of their plugins wouldn't work with my version of logic, only the person who I got these Logic files from is using the same version as I am and isn't having an issue with the plugins. We both are running Logic in bit mode as well. The only plugins I have gotten to work are the ones that I never tried to run from the external hard drive.

I guess that is why it would make sense to me to try and delete whatever record Logic has of the plug-ins an audio cache? But I have no idea how to do this or whether or not it makes any sense. Deleting the cache file will only force Logic to rescan plugins that are in these locations. If they're somewhere in some external drive nothing's going to happen. Is there any other name it could have or location it could be in?

Mske sure you're looking in your user Library folder. It's hidden by default in Lion. I'm having this exact same issue. I have like plug-ins that are recognized in AU Manager, but they "can't be opened". Did you guys ever figure out a work around? Would love to make use of all of these plug-ins. Bump from me too, similar issue. Not sure if the other guys followed any of these steps that got me stuck but in case they help:.

My computer crashed a few weeks ago. Apparently it's a serious issue - the entire logic board needs to be replaced. To make matters worse, finding a replacement board has been nearly impossible.

Oh, well. I blame brexit. In the meantime, I've decided to try to transfer all of my licensed and unlicenced DAWs and plug-ins to a temporary laptop.

This has proven to be quite difficult. However, after som trial and error, I managed to transfer and re-install most of the programs and plug-ins; the only exception being the Waves 9. The plug-ins we're successfully scanned and authorized in both Logic 9 and X, however the message "couldn't be opened" appeared in the Audio Units Manager for both DAWs. I assumed that something had gone wrong in the transferring process, and so therefore I maybe decided to download a torrent for Waves 9.

This worked fine for Logic X, but Logic 9 couldn't find the files. I have not used waves in about 3 versions, and they have added like 50 plugins. No thanks. Black Rooster. I never use this now. I remember trying to install on Mojave and it was a nuisance. That was H or something Lexicon old reverbs. I'd rather use Chromaverb or Space Designer in Logic anyway. This is more HD clutter. I run MacBook off gb internal ssd so real estate is not handed over to old plugins very lightly; especially if they are a pita.

Interesting x 1 List. Try something recent. I have been using Softube Saturation plugin a bit lately and it is free. Try that one, since it should need almost no intervention. Someone left this comment about this: the mobile device frameworks issue was related to a recent iTunes update. This sounds totally stupid, but I think you should try it. Especially with you mentioning your account being problematic? You could have the same symptom but totally different problem. That is a easy fix, if it applies to your actual situation.

It's like the "Fast Video Playback" bug. The fix is to restart core audio? May as well update iTunes. Many just in the Logic stock plugins alone. I will usually go back and check comments from any users from the time of release.
